The LOMO Square Fronts are x2 anamorphic primes that were built in St. Petersburg between the 1950s and 70s. Unlike most classic anamorphic builds, the Square Front’s anamorphic element is placed in front of the the taking lens. Besides giving them their distinct, instantly recognizable outter appearance, this feature also has an astonishingly beautiful effect on the look and feel, the lenses produce inside the camera.
We are very happy to have found this particular set, originating in the 1970s, the latest and most refined production period of this marvelous glass. All three lenses are in mint condition and have been refurbished in 2021. The gears run smoothly and the custom mods recently added by RAF Camera allow for an easy application of clamp-on matte boxes.
