The lenses of the Leica R SLR camera system were first presented in 1964 and were produced with various new editions and variations well into the 2000s. They are popular with camera enthusiasts for their creamy bokeh, warm color rendition, and excellent sharpness all the way to the corners.
All Leica R lenses illuminate large format, which of course makes the unique look of the old glass especially noticeable. What makes the TLS Rehousings special is that the close focus has been significantly improved. This is certainly most noticeable with the 19mm T2.9 Elmarit, where the minimum focusable distance has even been halved compared to the original photo lens.
